Joe Pierce is a filmmaker based in California. Since graduating with a BFA from Brooks Institute in 2013, he has worked as a Camera Operator and DP for more than 10 years in a variety of genres. These include feature films starring Channing Tatum and Gemma Chan, live events with athletes including Jerry Rice and Marshawn Lynch and artists such as Doechii, Doja Cat, Kings of Leon and Zach Bryan, national commercials, award-winning documentaries, plus marketing pieces for clients including Apple, Google, NVIDIA and Facebook.

 

He has been fortunate enough to be a part of productions that have taken him to 15 countries and counting. This has given him valuable international experience dealing with carnets, permits, and hiring local crews.

When not on set, Joe likes to spend his time surfing, competing in archery, and mountaineering. These humbling experiences help him practice the level of focus that being on set demands.

 

Joe has a particular interest in helping to expose people whose stories aren’t always seen.
